Opportunities for Giving

We are thankful for the generous financial support over the years by alumni and friends of the Robinson Map Library.  Since 1982, the library has been fortunate to receive donations that augment our ability to reach people through our collections and services. Gifts of any size are appreciated and always received with gratitude.

To donate to the Map Library, visit the Geography Fund page, and indicate on the form that the funds be directed to the Robinson Map Library. The Geography Department Fund was established in 1975 with gifts and bequests from alumni, friends, and foundations.

Now more than ever, your contributions enable us to continually enhance our ability to broaden access to our wonderful collections far and wide. Donations to the Map Library are used to amplify many aspects of our public service mission each and every year, including (but not limited to):

  • Supporting student assistants in gaining valuable experience by working in the library and helping with daily tasks and projects
  • Creating new and exciting educational programming and outreach activities
  • Taking on special research or digitization projects that we might not otherwise be able to
  • Purchasing specialized materials or resources that allow our user communities to fulfill needs around research, teaching, or other personal interest goals
  • Purchasing technical equipment or other supplies that make it possible for us to make our cartographic and aerial photograph collections more broadly available to people in Wisconsin and beyond
